GRAPHITES
Roth's early exploration of the dimensionality of the surface led to his
representation by the Robert Elkon Gallery in New York City. The string
paintings are a direct outgrowth of the aesthetic issues he was examining in
these works. He has recently returned to graphite works, two from 2001 are on
exhibit.
