American black walnut, extra wide, with stunning book-matched top forming a
central heart shape.

Unique 3 board top of book-matched pecan with highly figured center panel, 8
pecan butterflies and 2 free edges. Only known pecan table by Nakashima.

TABLES /NIGHT STANDS 
American black walnut with dovetailed sides and splayed legs. Pulls made of
bitter brush, which was collected when the Nakashima family was held at
Minidoka, an internment camp. An important, early design.

12) SLAB COFFEE TABLE w/ STEP TABLE 
American black walnut free-form slab on 4 short legs that sits on an American
black walnut long, low coffee table. The use of what was referred to as a
"step table" is something Nakashima did in the early years. The
unusually low coffee table height is typical of his early Japanese approach.
