Wall Hung Conoid Desk by George Nakashima, 1968-9

29h x 66w x 39d in

American black walnut single board top with 2 free edges, crotch figuring and a butterfly joint | Introduced in 1961, the Conoid line was inspired by the curved vault and outward-facing, lyrical space of the Conoid Studio. The desk was originally referred to as the Cross-Legged Desk. During this period the new Cross-Legged Base was used in several versions, supporting both small and large tables.
