Pull Table by Fabien Dubrunfaut, 2022
30h x 90w x 38d in
Walnut, brass | The "pulled" table is meant to look like it is pulled from the 4 corners...or is that a stretch? The brass plates are structural/mechanical, as they act as fender washers. The small plate in the middle of the table is not, but could be a wire grommet (for a lamp, for instance). On the other hand, the tool used to shape the edges of the table, was guided by the natural grain of the walnut slabs. The design reflects the dialogue between the mechanical and the organic. The piece was finished with oil, and a light top coat of catalyzed polyurethane, which should protect it in everyday use for a long time.
