Untitled Frisbee by Ryan Kitson, 2019

12h x 8w x 11.5d in

Inspired by his experiences in college, where Ryan would put his half-thrown cylinders outside the ceramics studio, always wary of the frisbee golfers hucking discs around campus. 15 years later, he noticed a frisbee with an emoji and somehow the idea clicked. The work is thrown on the wheel, with intentionally heavy throw lines, then severely dented with a frisbee. Once the ceramic is fired and painted to look like wet clay, the custom made frisbee is reattached, 2019.
